Project Overview
Allens’ reimagined Melbourne workplace at 101 Collins Street in the Paris End of the CBD transforms a long-established legal office into a contemporary, high-performance environment designed for the future of legal practice. Designed by Hassell and delivered by Shape Australia, the multi-level workplace balances heritage with progress, creating a more open, connected and human-centred environment where collaboration, wellbeing and client experience are embedded into everyday use. Aspen delivered the bespoke architectural joinery package, contributing to a refined legal workplace within one of Melbourne’s most prestigious commercial towers.
PROJECT SCOPE
Aspen manufactured and installed a comprehensive suite of bespoke architectural joinery throughout the workplace. This included feature reception joinery, client-facing meeting suites, boardroom joinery, breakout and collaboration spaces, tea points, integrated storage solutions and a range of custom joinery elements tailored to a premium legal environment. Every element was carefully detailed to complement a refined material palette of natural timbers, stone and textured finishes, balancing gravitas with openness while reinforcing a centralised workplace experience that encourages movement, interaction and visibility across teams without compromising spaces for focused, private work. Throughout the fit-out, Aspen’s joinery helps soften transitions between environments and creates a consistent sense of continuity across all levels.
PROJECT DELIVERY
Delivering a large-scale legal workplace within a live premium commercial tower demanded disciplined planning and coordination. Across the nine-floor fit-out, multiple projects were progressing simultaneously within the building under demanding programme constraints. Dedicated project teams, structured registers and regular coordination between drafting, manufacturing, site teams and the builder ensured every floor progressed in step, maintaining quality while protecting programme certainty. This disciplined methodology enabled Aspen to deliver a complex, multi-level workplace while maintaining the quality and consistency expected throughout one of Melbourne’s best-known commercial addresses.
